What is ecstatic dance?

Ecstatic dance is a form of free dance that emphasizes self-expression and creative movement. We practice ecstatic dance together. It is the energy of the group that allows you to move in a pleasant, safe environment. In ecstatic dance, we dance in a non-judgmental atmosphere. By letting go of your thoughts, self-consciousness, and inhibitions, and moving in a way that your body guides you, many people find this dance liberating.

Let’s raise our heartbeat and shine as brilliant stars.
We are the manifestations of Light and love.

Dance your own dance

Ecstatic Dance is a meditation of dance, light and community. A dance full of exploration to free your spirit and celebrate life. Expressing yourself freely, jumping up and down, go beyond your borders, lay on the ground, sit still, be wild, set yourself free and have fun.

There are no fixed rules or choreography in ecstatic dance, and everyone is free to dance as they wish. The music played during an ecstatic dance session is usually a long mix of electronic or world music. Some sessions may include guided meditations or other activities to help participants connect with themselves and each other.

Self-development

Ecstatic dance has been described as a form of moving meditation, allowing participants to reach deep states of consciousness and experience a sense of unity and connection with others. It can be a powerful tool for personal growth, self-discovery, and healing.

Dancing together

It is a unique dance experience where you can fully express yourself in a safe and hold space. A space where you can be vulnerable and meet each other in wholeness. Many people dance in their own space, and others share their space with one another. To engage in a dance with someone, use sensitivity: Are they open to sharing their space with me? Mirror movements, offer a hand, brush by, make eye contact, and see & feel how they respond…

If you’d rather not dance with someone, or are ending a dance with someone, simply thank them by placing your hands in prayer at your heart. Namaste… Thank You.
